Centrepiece inspiration

So I mentioned before that I was thinking of each table having floating candles in IKEA vases. But what I really want to capture in the decoration is my favourite colour, the red glow you get when holding wine up to light. The tealight holder for the bridal table are made of red glass and are perfect. I want to try and replicate this on each table, but using different decorations on each table so it's less boring. The following are links to pieces that have inspried me. In the case of smaller pieces I would either use more than one, or place smaller candles around to complete the look. I still want to use gold acrylic table scatters to create a hint of uniformity among the tables, and to ensure the gold part of the colour theme is incorporated.

  1. I love that idea. It would look super cool having different ones on each table and the ones you've linked to above are great. The image I had in my head when I was looking at the pictures was one of a table with a cluster of tealight holders in the middle - a couple of the Ikea ones, one of the lamps and maybe the flower one.... So pretty. Like a sort of Aladdin's cave/whisky bar.. And that just reminded me of the guy in Melbourne who said that bar was like an opium den....

  2. Also, just thinking about the number of guests and tables. If you have about 60 people, that's five or six round tables of ten, plus a bridal party table, right? Does Rydges have any tables other than big round ones? I was just thinking that you could do more tables and a smaller number of people on each table or even some larger and some smaller tables (because it isn't as big as some weddings) so talking is easier etc... I don't know...

  3. That's right. An opium den designed by David Lynch, wasn't it? Lol. Yeah, I'd like it to be that kind of feel.

As for the tables, I don't know, but it could make things easier or harder! I can always ask Melissa closer to the day though.

Had my first "sort of" decline today; I told my uni friend Lisa the date, and she said she's just received a save the date card from another friend for that exact same day! :( I'd better think about getting mine sent out in that case...
